that sparkle in kati's eye

i have long breathed this quote from Huxley’s masterpiece “The Doors of Perception” as both a symbol of (at times, dreary) acceptance and contemplation. I find his words to speak volumes of our journeys not only as human beings but also as writers while simultaneously displaying our potential shortcomings.  here, i find myself wrapped in this odd blanket of comfort in realizing myself to be forever in some given tier of solitude. are we kidding ourselves as writers? trying to express feelings and thoughts that may never be fully understood from others’ perspectives? or rather are we on some brave and raw journey to breaking language barriers and uniting “island universes…”
